Hey All!
Usually when I start getting overwhelmed like I said I tend to procrastinate or avoid my work completely and I'll end up you know laying down and taking a nap or finding things to distract myself with because #procrastination.
So this last week I was aware that I needed to refocus and get back on track so I decided to give myself a time frame for work and made it a point to work on just one thing each night during the week.
I was also aware that I have been exhausted everyday and not feeling motivated at all and just thinking about what I needed to do didn't help so when those feelings would hit me I would stop what I was working and call it a night because I knew I wouldn't get anywhere at that point.
So when these feelings hit, I’ve learned just acknowledging how I'm feeling and knowing what I will be able to accomplish when I'm feeling that way is pretty important and so just walking away or calling a night is a good way for me to just relax. I know I'll get back to the work I was doing when I get a light bulb moment or just feel a little bit motivated to work on some stuff.
Most of the time, we get frustrated when this happens because at the same time we feel unproductive and it takes a long time to get work done but we also need to be aware of how we are feeling both physically and mentally. If you aren’t in the right mindset, you will find you aren’t as productive or creative with what you're trying to work on. Not to mention, rest is important when you're overwhelmed.
Let me know what works for you guys when you're feeling overwhelmed when you're trying to get work done!
